STORY FROM:

We held our second year birthday event at the Winter Gardens at Hexham High School on Thursday 10th September 2009.

The event was supported by the Hexham Business Forum and the Tynedale Business Network.

The food and drink was kindly provided by Waitrose of Hexham and the event was managed by our keen team of helpers and TEP panel members.

This should give you an idea of how it went.

We received support in managing the event from the Hexham Business Forum and the Tynedale Business Network

Sandy Rutherford of the Hexham Business Forum and Christopher Elliott-Newman of the Tynedale Business Network.

Food and drink provided by Waitrose Hexham.

We asked some of our clients to explain to the guests how their business ideas were progressing. Cerys Pretty of CPPR and Justin Souter of Souter Consulting accepted this offer.

Justin telling it like it is, Mark the TEP facilitator and Cerys planning her next pitch.

We asked other clients to bring along some of their work and display it for our guests to see.

Jan Croot makes clothes and bags from recycled and found materials. These were very popular with many of our guests.

Fiona Wright and Alys Rainbird make and sell jewellery and accessories using vintage buttons and materials.

Other clients including Sam Burnish, Kate Lowden, Johanna Sheehan, Stephen Lamb, Lauren Read and Simon Heal also exhibited their work.

We were supported on the night by a team of willing helpers.

Jo leapt into the role of traffic management and in the background Adam of Revolution marketing set up and ran the video clips for our presentation.

Tom served the drinks, Katy welcomed our guests and supporters and Frances made sure everyone was well fed.

While our guests were arriving Jo played this wonderful grand piano. Jo is a music student at Hexham High School and also works as a piano tutor.

A selection of pictures of our guests, clients, supporters.

Oh, and of course this work would be impossible without the input from our panel members.

Ann, Gill, Tamsin,Mike, Gill, Sandy and Andy.

We set the TEP up under license to the Sirolli Institute. Gill received this certificate to show that we have successfully completed our training and are a qualified Sirolli project. We continue to work with other projects and count the Sirolli team as our mentors, colleagues and most of all, our friends.

All photos were taken by a local photography student, Amelia Read. You can see more of her work here.
